Reflection
Real love isn't about our performance; it's about God's initiative. He didn't wait for us to love Him first. He made the first move, the biggest move, the most costly move. Every time we're tempted to think God's love depends on us, this verse sets the record straight.
Prayer
God, Your love rewrites my definition of love every time I read this verse. You moved first. You sacrificed most. You loved when there was nothing lovable in return. Teach me to receive that love fully and reflect it boldly.
