Psalm 39:4-5 (WEB)
“Yahweh, show me my end, what is the measure of my days. Let me know how frail I am. Behold, you have made my days hand-widths long. My lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely every man stands as a breath. Selah.”
Reflection
A handbreadth, roughly four inches. That's how David described the span of a human life compared to eternity. It's not pessimism; it's perspective. When you see life clearly, you stop chasing what fades and start pursuing what lasts forever.
Prayer
Lord, give me the perspective that David had. Show me how fleeting life is so that I spend my remaining days on what truly matters for eternity.
