“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Reflection
The contrast couldn't be sharper. Sin pays wages: death. But God gives gifts: eternal life. We didn't earn eternal life; it was handed to us through Christ. Understanding what we were saved from makes the gift infinitely more precious.
Prayer
Jesus, I don't take lightly what You saved me from. The wages I earned were death, but You stepped in and handed me life instead. I am forever grateful for a gift I could never afford on my own.
