Hope & Perseverance

Romans 5:3-5 (WEB)

Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope doesn't disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Reflection

There's a chain reaction in the kingdom of God: suffering leads to perseverance, perseverance builds character, and character produces hope. Nothing in God's economy is wasted. The hard thing you're walking through right now is forging something in you that will bear fruit for years to come.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, help me see the purpose in my suffering. Forge perseverance and character in me through this season, and let hope be the result: unshakeable, unashamed hope rooted in Your love.
