Hope & Perseverance

Hebrews 12:1-2 (WEB)

Therefore let's also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let's run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Reflection

You're not running alone, and you're not running blind. A cloud of witnesses surrounds you, and Jesus Himself is the finish line. But to run well, you have to shed the weight: the sin, the distractions, the things that slow you down. Run light, run focused, run with your eyes on Him.

Prayer

Jesus, I'm fixing my eyes on You today. Show me what I need to throw off so I can run this race unhindered. You pioneered this path and You'll perfect my faith along the way.
