Coming Home
1 Peter 3:18 (WEB)
“Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;”
Reflection
Holy Saturday, the world held its breath. Jesus lay in the tomb, and it looked like the end. But tucked into this verse is the whole reason for the cross: to bring you to God. Not to punish you, not to shame you, but to bring you home. The righteous died for the unrighteous. The innocent took the place of the guilty. All so you could come home.
Prayer
God, in the silence of this Saturday, I sit with the weight of what Jesus did. He suffered, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring me to You. I am coming home because of what He did, not because of anything I've earned.
