Coming Home
Luke 22:19-20 (WEB)
“He took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and gave to them, saying, "This is my body which is given for you. Do this in memory of me." Likewise, he took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you."”
Reflection
On this night, Jesus took an ordinary meal and made it eternal. Broken bread, poured-out wine, symbols of a body about to be broken and blood about to be shed so that you could come home to God. Every time you remember what He did, you remember the price of your homecoming.
Prayer
Jesus, on this Maundy Thursday I remember what You did at that table. Your body broken, Your blood poured out, all for me. I will never take that sacrifice for granted. Thank You for the new covenant that brings me home.
