“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
Reflection
Joy in trials sounds impossible until you understand the purpose behind them. Every test of your faith is producing something: perseverance. And perseverance, when it runs its full course, makes you mature, complete, and lacking nothing. Don't short-circuit the process. Let it finish its work.
Prayer
Jesus, give me the perspective to find joy in the middle of trials. I don't want to cut the process short. Let perseverance do its full work in me until I lack nothing You intend for me to have.
