Your Body Is a Temple

1 Corinthians 6:19–20

January 22, 2026

How we treat our bodies is an act of worship. Stewardship of our physical health matters to God.

We spend a lot of time thinking about spiritual disciplines — prayer, reading Scripture, fasting, worship. But what about physical stewardship?

Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 6:19–20, "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."

Your body is not your own. It was bought — at the highest possible price. And with that purchase comes responsibility.

**What Does Stewardship Look Like Practically?** - Moving your body regularly as an act of gratitude - Fueling it with nutrition that sustains, not just satisfies cravings - Resting when God designed us to rest - Treating it with the care due to something that belongs to God

This isn't about achieving the perfect physique. This is about honoring the One who made you. Your workout is worship. Your rest is obedience. Your health choices are spiritual decisions.
